The band pays tribute to old-school black metal without becoming a cliché. Their music is exactly what I want when I want to listen to straight-up Second Wave black metal. The riffs were memorable and weren’t diluted by too-long run times; the drums were resonant and powerful without being overpowering, and the songwriting was excellent overall. WHOREDOM RIFE is on heavy rotation since I consciously discovered them with their latest mighty opus "Winds of Wrath". This actual release is so perfect that I simply had to explore the whole back catalogue as well! The debut "Dommedagskvad" is also an outstanding album. Icy guitars, harsh vocals and galopping drums lay a massive black foundation but the album gets its grandness by majestic mid-tempo parts and melodic passages. Dynamic and full of atmosphere! H.L.

I'd say Havukruunu is the inheritor of Quorthon and Bathory. Male choirs, vikingesque themes and tales of Finnish paganism from the happier times before our ancestors were made to convert or die by sword of blooded cross.
